A father involves his underage son in smuggling 3,769 narcotic pills at the Ceuta border.

A joint security operation between national security forces and customs at the Ceuta crossing on Friday thwarted an attempt to smuggle large shipments of controlled medication into Morocco.

This operation led to the arrest of a utility vehicle driver, a Moroccan national, along with his 13-year-old son, immediately after their arrival in Morocco. A search revealed that the minor was concealing 3,769 various types of narcotic pills, which he had strapped under his clothing with adhesive tape.

Both suspects are undergoing judicial investigation overseen by the relevant public prosecutor’s office to uncover all individuals involved in this case, as well as to determine the broader national and international connections of this criminal activity. Furthermore, this will help assess the level of involvement of each individual in the committed criminal acts.

This case falls within the context of ongoing and intensified security operations conducted by various security services to combat international drug trafficking and various forms of transnational crime.
