Russia has resumed its airstrikes on eastern and southern Ukraine, according to two local Ukrainian officials on Monday, following a ceasefire for Easter proclaimed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, with both countries accusing each other of violating it.

Serhiy Lysak, the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region in eastern Ukraine, reported on Telegram: “The Russian military has launched drone attacks in the area.”

He added that damage occurred to a home and a fire broke out at a food processing plant, but there were no reports of injuries.

Vitaliy Kim, the governor of the Mykolaiv region in the south, stated that Russian airstrikes have also resumed in the area.

On Sunday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of violating the Easter ceasefire “more than 2,000 times”; however, he confirmed that there were no Russian airstrikes during the day, proposing a halt to attacks using drones and missiles on civilian facilities for at least 30 days.
