Marrakech /

Participants in a national meeting held today emphasized that the Practical Guide to Enhancing Criminal Investigations serves as a field reference for prosecutors and judicial police officers, enhancing the effectiveness of their interventions in investigation processes.

The guide is the result of close coordination between the Office of the Public Prosecutor and the General Directorates of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, as well as the Royal Gendarmerie. It includes precise directions and practical recommendations aimed at improving the quality of criminal investigations and facilitating their daily management.

The discussions highlighted the commitment of both the Public Prosecution and judicial police services to implement the guide in daily practice, with calls to develop training programs that encompass its topics and embed its contents within institutional work.

The meeting also included calls to expand international cooperation in the field of criminal investigations, by leveraging what is offered by laws and bilateral, regional, and international agreements to accelerate the completion of investigations and overcome cross-border obstacles.

Attention was also given to expanding coordination with forensic professionals and social sectors responsible for vulnerable groups, through their active involvement in supporting criminal justice and raising their awareness of their roles in this context.

The meeting, which commenced today and will last for two days, provided a methodological overview of the stages of preparing the guide and discussed its related topics, including reasonable timelines, institutional communication, guarantees of rights, and mechanisms for field activation.

The sessions witnessed wide participation from representatives of the Public Prosecution, national security, and the Royal Gendarmerie, alongside public prosecutors and heads of judicial police departments from various regions of the kingdom.
