The Supreme Court of Accounts Participates in the 30th Edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair
The Supreme Court of Accounts announced in a statement its participation in the 30th edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair, which will take place from April 17 to 27 in Rabat, under the slogan “Oversight and Partnership for Development.”
The Court aims through this participation to continue to raise awareness about its constitutional roles and responsibilities, while highlighting its oversight and evaluation functions in supporting major reforms and enhancing public performance. This will be achieved through conducting oversight tasks regarding the implementation of sustainable development goals and strengthening interaction among the relevant stakeholders at both the national and local levels with its outputs, contributing to developmental progress that meets citizens’ aspirations.
To this end, the Court has prepared a program that includes a series of scientific seminars led by a distinguished group of judges from the Court and regional audit councils. These will examine the role of the Court in monitoring the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals 2015-2030 and the contribution of financial courts to improving the governance of local public facilities.
According to the same source, mechanisms for following up on the implementation of recommendations and their impact on the quality of public management and the improvement of services provided to citizens will be reviewed. Additionally, the specific mandate of the Supreme Court of Accounts regarding the oversight of public funds will be highlighted.
In this same context, the program will include a joint seminar between the Supreme Judicial Council, the Public Prosecution Office, and the Supreme Court of Accounts on the topic “Judicial Ethics: A Fundamental Support for Strengthening Trust and Credibility,” in which the Court will participate with interventions on professional ethics and their impact on enhancing the performance of financial courts.
The same source added that “in a qualitative endeavor to encourage academic openness and enrich oversight practice with theoretical and practical research approaches, the Court is organizing a series of open meetings with researchers specialized in the field of oversight of public finances. A space will also be dedicated to showcasing theses and academic studies addressing issues related to this field.”
The statement noted that the Supreme Court of Accounts’ participation in this international event, organized under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aligns with the objectives of its communication strategy and supports its awareness-raising role with various stakeholders, particularly citizens.
