Strategic Partnership Between the National Federation of Grain Production and Taqat to Support Moroccan Farmers

The National Federation of Grain Activities, in partnership with the “Taqat” platform of the SOWIT Group, has signed a new strategic agreement aimed at launching a national digital platform to aggregate and finance grain producers. This agreement was made on the sidelines of the International Agriculture Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM), which is being held in Meknes on April 23, 2025.

This initiative aligns with the ambitions of the “Green Generation 2020-2030” plan and the operational program of the federation, which seeks to modernize the Moroccan grain sector and improve farmers’ incomes while supporting national food security and transitioning towards sustainable agriculture in the face of climate change.

The “Taqat” project currently covers over 3,000 hectares across multiple regions of the kingdom, with ambitions to expand to 40,000 hectares by 2026. The project is based on an innovative approach to digital aggregation, aiming to enhance the agricultural value chain by facilitating access to financing, providing structured technical support, and achieving tangible results in productivity.

The new platform will enable:

– The enumeration and aggregation of high-potential producers in various regions.
– Facilitating access to suitable financing through financial partnerships.
– Continuous support through field teams and advanced digital applications.
– Promotion of regenerative agricultural practices such as direct seeding and crop rotation.
– Improvement of the local production marketing process in a fair and transparent manner.

Jamal Al-Mohammadi, a representative of the federation, stated, “This project embodies our vision for a more inclusive, sustainable, and innovative agricultural sector, placing the farmer at the heart of this transformation. We aim to reach one million hectares for production to enhance our food security.”

For his part, Hamza Rkha Shem, co-founder of “Taqat,” remarked that this partnership represents “a pivotal phase in structuring production chains, where we employ technology to serve farmers, enabling them to produce better, access resources more easily, and plan for a stable agricultural future.”
