Rachid Talbi Alami, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, held bilateral talks on Tuesday in Rabat with Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, the Chairman of the Shura Council of Bahrain, and Dr. Hamda bint Hassan bin Abdul Rahman Abusaif Al-Sulaiti, the Deputy Chairwoman of the Shura Council of Qatar.
According to a statement from the House of Representatives, these meetings coincide with the participation of the officials from Bahrain and Qatar, along with their accompanying delegation, in the third South-South parliamentary dialogue forum organized under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, by the House of Councillors, the South-South Dialogue Forum, and the Association of Senates, Shura Councils, and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World.
The bilateral discussions focused on highlighting the depth of the historical and fraternal relations between Morocco and both Bahrain and Qatar. Emphasis was placed on the importance of South-South parliamentary dialogue and the central role of coordination and exchange of parliamentary experiences aimed at enhancing cooperation in joint sustainable development issues in Africa, Asia, and the Arab and Latin American regions, all within the framework of respecting states’ sovereignty and territorial integrity and non-interference in their internal affairs.
These bilateral meetings also served as an occasion to recognize the major initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom of Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, along with the King’s development and solidarity initiatives aimed at strengthening South-South cooperation.
In this context, there was a strong emphasis on the necessity to reinforce joint parliamentary work in service of development and international security and stability issues.
