Moroccan Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid represents Morocco at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Dialogue, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to digital transformation in the cultural sector.

On Monday, Morocco participated in the ministerial dialogue of the Abu Dhabi Cultural Summit, led by Mr. Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication.

During the session, which focused on “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Culture and Human Creativity,” Mr. Bensaid joined several culture ministers from around the world. In his speech, he emphasized Morocco’s commitment, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to place culture at the heart of its development project. He noted that culture serves as a driver for individual development and social cohesion, as well as a significant source of job opportunities.

In this regard, the minister added that the Kingdom is working to democratize access to culture by expanding infrastructure, reducing disparities, and enhancing training in cultural professions. He affirmed that Morocco is devising strategies aimed at increasing the cultural sector’s capacity to contribute to economic and social development.

Mr. Bensaid also highlighted the importance of viewing artificial intelligence as a tool that serves humanity, explaining that the Kingdom is working to integrate these technologies into strategic sectors such as culture, cultural industries, and creativity. He stated that the use of artificial intelligence could enhance the valuation of historical heritage, boost Morocco’s tourist and educational appeal, and create new employment opportunities for youth. He underscored the necessity of adopting a proactive approach to keep pace with digital transformations, calling for continued international discussions on copyright protection in the digital age to ensure the rights of creators.

The ministerial dialogue was chaired by Mr. Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, and Mr. Ernesto Ottone, Assistant Director-General for Culture at UNESCO.

Additionally, Mr. Bensaid participated, in his capacity as President of the regional consultations for Arab states for the Mondiacult 2025 conference, in the second regional consultation meeting held on the sidelines of the summit.
