Marrakech witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement on Monday between the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform and the Moroccan Postal Group, aimed at enhancing the integration of the Amazigh language into various services offered by the group.
The agreement, signed by Amel Flah Sagroshini, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, and Amin Ibn Jloun Toueimi, the Director General of the Moroccan Postal Group, is centered around five main axes.
According to a statement from the Moroccan Postal Group, the agreement, signed during the third edition of the “GITEX Africa Morocco” exhibition (April 14-16), aims to improve reception and guidance services and provide information in the Amazigh language. It also includes the provision of Amazigh-speaking staff within call centers, the translation of instructional content and signage within postal spaces, the integration of the Amazigh language in digital content and on the group’s social media platforms, and support in training, consultation, and expertise.
The same source emphasized that this agreement is in implementation of the royal directives and will activate the provisions of the government program for 2021-2026 regarding the official recognition of the Amazigh language. This aligns perfectly with Article 5 of the Kingdom’s Constitution, and the regulatory law No. 26.16 that outlines the stages and mechanisms for integrating the Amazigh language into priority areas.
This partnership reflects the commitment of both parties to entrench the official status of the Amazigh language and ensure access for Amazigh-speaking citizens to inclusive and effective postal services.
