Moroccan defender Ayoub El Amoud has announced his departure from Iranian club Persepolis after just one season with the team.

In a post on his Instagram account, El Amoud wrote: “Every beginning has an end, and every end is a new beginning. I thank the president and management for their kindness, as well as the players for everything, and the coaching and medical staff. I also thank the Persepolis fans whom I love, and who showed me immense support.”

He continued, “I am proud to have worn this precious jersey. I wish Persepolis a successful journey and hope it continues on the path of championships that befit its history and present, and its large fan base, to which I owe so much, and I will never forget.”

El Amoud joined the Iranian team during the last summer transfer window after his contract with Wydad Casablanca ended.
