Mauritania Airlines denied today, Tuesday, reports circulating about a plane from its fleet carrying Mauritanian pilgrims that allegedly crashed in the Red Sea.
In a statement, Mauritania Airlines emphasized that claims regarding a plane from its fleet going down in the Red Sea are baseless rumors.
The airline pointed out that some foreign social media pages circulated malicious rumors about the crash of a plane carrying Mauritanian pilgrims off the Red Sea, describing these reports as unfounded.
Mauritania Airlines stressed that all Mauritanian pilgrims have arrived safely and securely in the holy lands, with no incidents reported concerning the organized flights in this regard.
The company stated that it organized three outgoing flights on May 23, 24, and 25, 2025, as part of its plan to transport Mauritanian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
Return flights are scheduled for June 12, 13, and 14, 2025, according to the approved timetable in coordination with the relevant authorities, the statement added.
Mauritania Airlines called on everyone to verify information and refrain from spreading false news, reserving the right to take legal action against those promoting rumors that threaten the safety and security of travelers and the company’s reputation.
