For the first time, six stadiums will host matches of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The Confederation of African Football, in coordination with the local organizing committee, has announced the approval of six stadiums to host the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, set to be held in Morocco from July 5 to 26. This unprecedented decision marks a significant change, as previous tournaments were only held in three stadiums.

The approved venues include the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, the Al Arabi Zawali Stadium and the Abdeljalil Hadda Stadium in Casablanca, and the El Bashir Stadium in Mohammedia, as well as the Municipal Stadium in Berkane and the Honorary Stadium in Oujda.

The Olympic Stadium in the capital will host the matches of the Moroccan women’s national team, representing the host country, especially following its recent official opening during the Mohammed VI Athletics Meeting. The national team is in Group A, which also includes Zambia, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, while Group B consists of Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana. Group C features South Africa, Ghana, Mali, and Tanzania.

This edition follows the organizational success witnessed by Morocco during the last tournament, where the Atlas Lionesses reached the final before losing the title to South Africa at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
