Oujda: Couple Arrested with Over 69,000 Hallucinogenic Pills
Oujda police, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, arrested a couple suspected of being involved in the possession of a total of 69,018 hallucinogenic pills.
According to media reports, the suspects were apprehended while in possession of drugs in a light vehicle. Searches conducted inside the car resulted in the seizure of 3,000 pills, including 2,000 pills of ecstasy and 1,000 medicinal pills of Rivotril.
The same reports indicated that a continuation of investigations allowed authorities to search the suspects’ home, leading to the discovery of an additional 3,918 narcotic pills, including 3,718 ecstasy pills and 200 medicinal pills, in addition to 500 grams of ecstasy powder, 100 grams of cocaine, and a variety of medical pills intended for abortion, along with a sum of money suspected to be the proceeds of these criminal activities.
The suspects have been subjected to judicial inquiry under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor to apprehend any other potential accomplices involved in this criminal activity and to uncover their possible connections with drug trafficking networks.
