On the anniversary of the birth of the Crown Prince… the Basma Association establishes a culture of solidarity and humanitarian work through a solidarity soirée

The Basma Association for Family Care held a solidarity soirée on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in Casablanca, commemorating the 22nd birthday of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, coinciding with World Autism Day, under the theme “Celebration of Hope for Basma Centers.”

During the soirée, the association launched the inaugural “Basma Annual Award for Humanitarian and Solidarity Work,” aiming to recognize initiatives that promote values of solidarity and active citizenship, inviting nominations from individuals, associations, and institutions working on the integration of people with disabilities and improving their living conditions.

The event was attended by representatives from public and private sectors, as well as prominent figures from the fields of art, media, and civil society. The evening commenced with a speech by the association’s president, Said Maaroufi, followed by a presentation on the projects of Basma Centers and their development prospects, including efforts to enhance service quality for beneficiaries.

The event was presided over by the regional coordinator of National Solidarity in the Casablanca-Settat region, representing the Director General of National Solidarity, alongside Fatima Al-Ashouri, the regional delegate of National Solidarity in Aïn Chock, and Abdel Latif Nasri, deputy mayor of Casablanca in charge of culture and sports.

During the evening, the association honored several partners and supporters by distributing “Basma Humanitarian, Social, Institutional, and Solidarity Shields,” in recognition of their contributions to supporting the association and enhancing the sustainability of its services. The official announcement of the “Humanitarian Ambassadors for Basma Centers” was also made, chosen from socially and humanly committed personalities.

The soirée concluded with a festive musical performance featuring artist Khawla Moujahid (Jilan), singer Abdel Ali Anwar, and comedic duo Said and Wadi, creating an atmosphere where art blended with humanitarian giving, reflecting the spirit of hope the association aims to instill in the hearts of beneficiaries.

Earlier that same day, open doors were organized for beneficiaries of Basma Centers, featuring artistic performances, alongside a special exhibition showcasing jewelry products made by beneficiaries and their artistic paintings, highlighting their abilities and potential.
