Why is Al Jazeera Turning a Blind Eye to the Transfer of Tons of Weapons from Al Udeid Air Base to Israel?
At a time when tons of weapons are flowing from the American Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar to Israel, Al Jazeera, Qatar’s media arm, continues to deceive its Arab audience with promotional coverage that glorifies resistance while hiding shocking truths. Since October 7, the military cargo aircraft have been constantly departing from the heart of Doha towards Tel Aviv, loaded with boxes of death, smart munitions, and massive destructive tools targeting the people of Gaza. All this is happening just kilometers away from Al Jazeera’s offices, yet not a single report or even a brief news item has emerged referencing this blood artery fueling the war machine.
This silence is not merely an editorial choice; it is a political stance. Al Jazeera is fully aware of what’s happening. The channel has investigative teams, sources, advanced logistical capabilities, and offices everywhere. However, it has chosen to turn a blind eye to the largest American base in the Middle East, stifling its voice when it comes to Qatari interests, regardless of the humanitarian and moral cost. What is astonishing is that this very channel recently launched a questionable media campaign against the port of Tangier in Morocco, accusing it of receiving an Israeli arms ship, without clear evidence and without waiting for an investigation or official confirmation. Al Jazeera was not seeking the truth; it was crafting a directed narrative designed to distract viewers and shift attention away from the real source of the weapons, feeding anti-Moroccan agendas.
The Qatari regime and its channel claim to support Palestine, but what occurs behind the scenes reveals another face. Qatari money is invested in media projects that appear antagonistic toward Israel on the surface, yet serve an opposite function at their core. Politically biased and selective coverage that hides or displays information as needed. Exaggerating the resistance’s capabilities beyond reality is not done as support for it, but rather as a later justification for aggression against it. This is a continuous distortion of awareness and manipulation of emotions, serving an agenda with no ties to real principles.
Al Jazeera has ceased to be a platform for free expression and has become a medium for managing discord. It promotes a double discourse that nourishes division among peoples and plants seeds of doubt among Arabs. It practices soft blackmail in the name of journalism and engages in political battles under the guise of neutrality. It gets upset when media talk about normalization, yet remains silent about the weapons that originate from its own ground. It is not just a biased channel; it is a direct party in the equation of war.
