Mohammed Welad Rchid, the President of the House of Councillors, held discussions yesterday, Wednesday, at the council’s headquarters with the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Chad and President of the African Parliamentary Union, Ali Koloto Chaimi.
A statement from the House of Councillors noted that the African official congratulated the President on the success of the South-South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum hosted by the council on April 28 and 29, praising its meticulous organization and the substantive discussions among the various participating parties.
The same source clarified that both sides also addressed bilateral relations characterized by ongoing cooperation and a strong mutual desire to enhance effectiveness and efficiency through concrete initiatives across all areas of shared interest.
In this context, the statement adds, both sides reviewed the ongoing preparations in the Moroccan Parliament to host the 83rd session of the Executive Committee of the African Parliamentary Union, scheduled for May 21 and 22.
