Dismantling a Drug Trafficking Network in Tetouan: Arrest of a Police Officer and Two Brothers, Along with Seizure of 3,600 Narcotic Pills
The Tetouan Regional Judicial Police, in coordination with their counterparts in Tangier and Ksar al-Kebir, acted on precise information provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, managing to seize 3,600 narcotic pills on the evening of Wednesday and the morning of Thursday, April 16 and 17. Four individuals were arrested, including two brothers and a police officer of the rank of sergeant, on suspicion of their involvement with a criminal network operating in drug and psychotropic substance trafficking.
This operation is part of ongoing investigations following the arrest of two individuals on March 20 in the outskirts of Wazzan, who were caught red-handed with a massive haul of 94,728 pills, along with three kilograms of cocaine.
Research and investigations identified three of the fleeing suspects, leading to their arrest in Ksar al-Kebir and Tangier. The searches conducted resulted in the seizure of 3,600 narcotic pills intended for distribution.
Among those arrested was a security officer suspected of participating in this criminal activity. Additionally, checks on the suspects in the national police database revealed that two of them were subjects of national arrest warrants issued by the judicial police in Tangier and Casablanca related to drug trafficking cases.
The four suspects have been placed in custody under the supervision of the competent judicial authority to uncover any additional potential involved parties in this criminal operation and to determine all extensions and connections that this network may have both inside and outside the region.
