Assfi.. A police officer opens fire to neutralize a dangerous criminal who attacked a citizen and threatened public safety
A police inspector from the fourth security district in Assfi was compelled to use his service weapon during a violent confrontation with a known offender who posed a serious threat to the safety of citizens and law enforcement officers with a knife.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the 36-year-old suspect created chaos and vandalized a bakery, directly threatening its owner, and then violently resisted police officers when they intervened to arrest him, refusing to comply.
One officer had to fire a warning shot and then shot the suspect, hitting him in the legs, which helped neutralize the threat without causing injuries among citizens or police personnel.
The suspect was transported to the hospital under police guard, awaiting further judicial investigation by order of the public prosecutor to determine the circumstances of the case and uncover all committed crimes.
