The Special Forces Training Center in the Pakistani city of Cherat hosted the opening ceremony for the third joint military exercise between the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces and the Pakistan Army in the area of counter-terrorism, according to a statement from the Public Relations Directorate of the Pakistan Army.

According to the same source, the exercise involves the Special Services Group of the Pakistan Army and the Special Forces of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, highlighting that the goal of these joint maneuvers is to develop the professional skills of the participating forces and to strengthen military relations between the two nations through the exchange of experiences and expertise in counter-terrorism.

The commencement of this bilateral military exercise coincides with the launch of the eighth edition of the “International Team Spirit” exercises by the Pakistan Army 2025, featuring several armies from countries friendly to Pakistan, including Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United States, along with Egypt, South Africa, and Kenya participating as an observer.

According to the Pakistan Ministry of Defense, these maneuvers, hosted by the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in the city of Babi, aim to enhance military cooperation among armies in a complex international security environment, noting that “this exercise will help refine combat skills of soldiers, as well as strengthen the ability to work collaboratively through the exchange of innovative ideas and best practices.”

This multinational training, in which the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces have previously participated in several iterations, focuses on “developing physical fitness, mental resilience, and professional military expertise of the participating forces, in order to make quick decisions in various situations while carrying out missions in realistic environments.”

The Moroccan army is participating in the “International Team Spirit” exercises for the fourth consecutive year, in addition to taking part in several multinational maneuvers alongside the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s army, particularly in the area of counter-terrorism. This underscores, according to strategic experts who spoke to Hespress previously, Morocco’s commitment to global efforts to combat terrorism and various security challenges that overshadow global peace and stability.
