Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), arrived in Morocco from Senegal, in a visit aimed at addressing the implications of the Africa Cup of Nations final, which has sparked extensive debate within African football circles.
This visit is part of Motsepe’s efforts to ease tensions and strengthen communication bridges with various stakeholders on the continent.
Upon his arrival, Motsepe stated that he came to the Kingdom of Morocco to express his deep commitment, alongside the 54 members of the African Union, toward Morocco, its King, government, and people.
Motsepe emphasized the solid relationships between CAF and Morocco, and expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, specifically mentioning its president, Fouzi Lekjaa, for the efforts made in developing football both on the continental and international levels.
The CAF president stressed that occurrences like those during the Africa Cup of Nations final should not be repeated in the future, affirming that respecting laws and regulations remains crucial to ensuring the integrity of competitions.
He added that any party found in violation of the applicable regulations will bear full responsibility, including facing sanctions, as part of CAF’s commitment to promoting transparency and credibility within its competitions.
