General Director of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdelatif Hammouchi, received the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Morocco, Khalid Bensalem Bamkhalaf, in the capital Rabat on Tuesday. The meeting aimed to explore ways to enhance security cooperation between the two countries.
The gathering provided an opportunity to exchange views on mechanisms for improving bilateral coordination, particularly concerning the shared security challenges, notably the fight against terrorism and transnational organized crime, as well as strengthening information and experience exchanges between the relevant agencies.
The two sides also discussed the ongoing security transformations in the regional and international environment and their implications for the stability of nations, in light of the rising threats associated with criminal networks and transnational phenomena.
This meeting comes within the context of dynamic Moroccan-Omani relations, which are witnessing increased coordination in security fields, reflecting a mutual desire to broaden cooperation areas and strengthen coordination channels between the security institutions of both countries.
