Bouřitâ Reveals Measures for the Return of Moroccans Stranded in the Gulf Due to the Iranian War

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans residing abroad has initiated urgent measures to support Moroccans stranded in Gulf countries amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. This includes the comprehensive mobilization of diplomatic and consular services to secure assistance and facilitate their return through alternative routes.

Nasser Bouřitâ, in a written response to a question from parliamentary advisor Khaled Al-Satti, clarified that these measures are implemented in accordance with the royal directives of King Mohammed VI, aimed at ensuring support for Moroccan nationals residing and stranded in the region.

The government official noted the establishment of a central crisis cell, along with similar units within embassies and consulates, providing dedicated phone lines available 24/7 to answer citizens’ inquiries and guide them towards available solutions, especially following the closure of airspace in several affected countries.

In a related context, Bouřitâ mentioned that some concerned countries have taken measures to alleviate the hardships faced by the stranded, such as covering accommodation costs, extending visas, and allowing changes to travel dates without additional fees.

Regarding evacuation operations, the minister confirmed that several Moroccans have managed to leave areas of conflict, either through land crossings to neighboring countries, benefiting from facilitation by the Saudi authorities, or via flights scheduled as the threat level diminished, including flights organized by Royal Air Maroc.

Bouřitâ emphasized the continued mobilization of the ministry to support the Moroccan community abroad, reaffirming its commitment to provide necessary aid and support in line with the king’s directives and the expectations of Moroccans worldwide.
