Akhannouch Launches Ait Ourir Hospital Services and Tazart Center to Enhance Healthcare in Al Haouz Province
Al Haouz – On Saturday, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch inaugurated the Ait Ourir proximity hospital and the level two rural health center in Tazart, aiming to expand healthcare services and bring medical care closer to the population of Al Haouz Province, particularly in rural areas.
The two new facilities are part of a large national program to rehabilitate primary healthcare institutions, which includes the reconstruction, modernization, and equipping of around 1,400 health centers across various regions of the kingdom, with the goal of improving service quality and reducing disparities in access to care.
The Ait Ourir hospital is expected to be a key pillar of the region’s healthcare infrastructure, aiming to serve over 278,000 residents distributed across 16 municipalities. This facility was constructed over an area exceeding 30,000 square meters, with a budget of nearly 85 million dirhams, and has a capacity of 45 beds, equipped with modern medical amenities covering emergency services, surgery, maternal and child healthcare, radiology, and laboratory analyses, along with various medical specialties.
Meanwhile, the health center in Tazart has begun operations following its rehabilitation and equipping, which responds to the needs of around 22,000 residents by providing basic and specialized healthcare services, especially in maternal and child health, chronic diseases, and dentistry, supported by modern biomedical equipment.
This project is part of the program to rehabilitate health centers in areas affected by the Al Haouz earthquake, encompassing 114 health institutions distributed across six provinces, with a total cost of approximately 393 million dirhams, as part of the reconstruction efforts in the region.
These initiatives reflect a government commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and enhancing the readiness of medical institutions, thereby improving patient care quality and bringing services closer to the most vulnerable groups.
