The Moroccan government has provided financial support to tomato exporters to encourage them to direct their exports toward new markets outside Europe. This initiative is part of efforts to diversify trade destinations and enhance the international presence of Moroccan agricultural products.
This move comes amid efforts to reduce reliance on the European market by motivating stakeholders in the fruit and vegetable export sector—especially tomatoes—to explore alternative markets and expand their network of trading partners.
The support is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of Moroccan products, allowing exporters to cover the costs associated with entering new markets, including transportation and promotional expenses.
This strategy is also aligned with the goal of diversifying agricultural exports and increasing their visibility in international markets, thereby reinforcing Morocco’s position as one of the leading tomato exporters in the world.
