The government council approved a series of legal drafts related to investment, streamlining administrative procedures, and renewing satellite communication licenses, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.

In the area of investment, the council approved a draft decree amending the existing decree regarding the establishment of free export zones in the special development area of Tangier-Mediterranean, presented by the Minister of Equipment and Water on behalf of the Minister of Industry and Trade. The amendment aims to revise provisions related to the industrial acceleration zone in the Kasr al-Majaz to meet investors’ needs and enhance Morocco’s attractiveness within the international maritime trade system, particularly around the Port of Tangier-Mediterranean.

The council also approved a draft decree to amend and supplement the decree concerning the implementation of the regulatory framework for private nurseries, presented by the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, as part of activating the provisions of the law related to simplifying processes and administrative procedures. The project aims to simplify and digitize the procedures for obtaining licenses to open and operate nurseries, or renew them, as well as facilitate expansion or modifications to these institutions.

In the telecommunications sector, the council approved a draft decree renewing the license granted to Cimecom S.A to establish and operate a public communications network using VSAT satellite technology, following the approval of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency for an additional five years starting February 15, 2026, in accordance with applicable regulatory provisions, presented by the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

These measures are part of the government’s efforts to enhance investment, facilitate business procedures, and ensure the continuity of essential services in the fields of communications and education.
