The government announced Wednesday, September 23, 2026, as the date for the legislative elections.

During its weekly meeting on Thursday, the Council of Government approved Draft Decree No. 22619, which sets the date for the election of members of the House of Representatives, as announced by the Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesman, Mustafa Baïtass, during the press conference following the meeting.

The minister explained that the project defines not only the date of the elections but also the timelines for submitting candidacy declarations through the designated electronic platform to the governmental authority responsible for receiving applications.

The decree also establishes the period allocated for the electoral campaign, in accordance with the provisions of Organic Law No. 27.11 concerning the House of Representatives, issued under the High Royal Decree No. 1.16.5 on October 14, 2011, along with subsequent amendments.

The government official confirmed that the House of Representatives elections will take place on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, while the electoral campaign will begin at the start of Thursday, September 10, 2026, and will continue until midnight on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

This timeline is part of the organizational preparations for the upcoming elections, aimed at ensuring a smooth electoral process and adherence to the established schedule by all parties involved.
