Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, sharply criticized the Iranian regime, accusing it of following expansionist and aggressive policies that fuel tensions within the Arab world and threaten the sovereignty of Arab states.
Bourita made these remarks during his participation in the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, which was dedicated to discussing what have been described as Iranian attacks on the sovereignty of several Arab countries.
The minister emphasized that Morocco strongly condemns these actions, considering them a clear violation of sovereignty and a direct threat to the security and stability of nations. He also expressed Morocco’s full solidarity with the affected Arab countries and support for any necessary measures to protect their security and ensure the safety of their citizens and residents.
The Moroccan official pointed out that the ongoing situation cannot be separated from Iran’s approach of intervening in the affairs of neighboring countries by supporting entities and armed militias loyal to Tehran, which contributes to escalating conflicts and undermining the stability of the region.
In contrast, Bourita called for enhanced coordination and Arab collective action within the Arab League, asserting that unifying positions is the most effective way to protect collective security and uphold the sovereignty of Arab countries.
He urged the formation of a unified and firm Arab stance in confronting the practices that threaten regional stability, demanding an immediate halt to the alleged Iranian aggressions, allowing room for diplomatic efforts and prioritizing dialogue as a means to alleviate regional tensions.
