The Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform launched the National Accompaniment Program in partnership with Capgemini on Tuesday in Rabat. This initiative aims to facilitate the integration of female students into the digital job market and enhance women’s presence in high-value technological professions as part of the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy.

The program establishes a direct bridge between universities and businesses, mentoring female students from five academic hubs in Tangier, Settat, Mohammedia, Fez, and Khouribga. Company leaders will mentor these students, providing professional expertise, guidance, and networking opportunities. According to information presented during the launch event, over 80% of participants will begin their internships starting this March.

The initiative, overseen by Minister Aml Alfalah Sagrouchni, aligns with a government approach that links digital transformation with the principle of inclusion, considering the involvement of women’s talent essential for successful technological transition. The ministry emphasized that digitization represents a key developmental lever, but it can also become a source of exclusion in the absence of proactive policies that ensure equal opportunities.

In this context, the importance of artificial intelligence as a tool for accelerating developmental goals was highlighted, along with scientific data indicating its capability to support a significant portion of the sustainable development objectives, necessitating a comprehensive mobilization of national resources without exception.

The new program is part of a broader framework of initiatives aimed at increasing the representation of women in digital specialties. This includes the “We Elevate” program, developed by the Digital Cooperation Organization to enhance women’s access to strategic positions in the technology sector, as well as the “Awitai” program overseen by the Artificial Intelligence Coalition at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in partnership with OCP Foundation and UNESCO, aimed at guiding young women towards AI specializations.

The ministry also aims to develop a research and innovation ecosystem through the “Al-Jazari Institutes” network, designed as a national framework covering various regions of the Kingdom to avoid a dual-speed digital transition and ensure an equitable distribution of training and research opportunities in advanced technological fields, including artificial intelligence and data science.

The government’s approach relies on linking digital sovereignty with building qualified national competencies in a rapidly transforming digital job market. Official data indicates that the offshoring sector generated nearly 26 billion dirhams in export revenues in 2024; however, transitioning to more specialized and higher-value services remains a challenge, emphasizing the need for women’s positioning at the core of this qualitative shift.

According to program coordinators, the National Accompaniment Program represents a practical mechanism for translating these strategies into tangible opportunities, empowering female students with early field experience to enhance their employability in technology and innovation sectors.
