A French national of Tunisian descent was arrested at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca on Monday morning, March 16. The 24-year-old individual was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.

The arrest occurred shortly after his arrival at the airport on a flight from Tunisia, where a check against the international police database revealed that he was wanted at the request of the National Central Bureau in Paris.

Preliminary information suggests that the suspect is involved in a criminal network engaged in cocaine trafficking, as well as being suspected of possessing firearms and ammunition illegally.

The suspect has been subjected to extradition procedures under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor. Meanwhile, the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Rabat has informed its French counterpart of the arrest to initiate his extradition process.

This operation is part of the international security cooperation in which Moroccan security services are engaged, particularly regarding tracking internationally wanted individuals in cases of cross-border organized crime.
