The Regional Committee for Human Development in Taourirt has approved a work plan for the National Initiative for Human Development for 2026, which encompasses 124 projects and initiatives with a total budget of approximately 26.52 million dirhams.
These projects aim to enhance achievements in infrastructure and essential services, combat vulnerability and marginalization, and improve income while supporting small enterprises. The programs also focus on early childhood development, promoting education, and fighting school dropout rates, in addition to providing educational support and organizing cultural and artistic activities in the region.
In an opening speech, the Regional Governor, Badr Boucef, highlighted that the 2026 work plan is based on a ministerial memorandum prioritizing human capital development, particularly regarding maternal and child health. He noted the activation of a community health system in the Aiyoun and Dbedou districts to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates, encourage childbirth in monitored environments, and conduct awareness campaigns on the importance of changing health and nutrition behaviors among target groups.
The meeting, attended by heads of local human development committees, decentralized service heads, and civil society representatives, reviewed the achievements of the initiative during 2025, emphasizing the impact of previous projects in reinforcing basic infrastructures, supporting vulnerable individuals, improving incomes, and creating job opportunities for youth, as well as enhancing educational offerings and providing a conducive environment for extracurricular activities in rural and semi-urban areas.
