Groupe AEGIS Leads National Mobilization to Enhance Cybersecurity in the Moroccan Pharmaceutical Industry
On March 30, 2026, Groupe AEGIS, in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, organized a meeting that brought together key players in the pharmaceutical industry in Morocco to discuss a challenge that has become critical: the cybersecurity of industrial systems.
This event marks the first of its kind nationally, establishing a significant step towards implementing a collective approach to address cyber threats targeting pharmaceutical production environments, especially as the sector rapidly transitions to an Industry 4.0 model, accompanied by an increasing need to secure operational technology (OT) systems, which are essential for competitiveness and health sovereignty.
This initiative aligns with the dynamic modernization of Morocco’s pharmaceutical infrastructure, propelled by national ambitions and advanced international standards. However, this development is accompanied by an increase in cyber risks that could disrupt production chains, breach regulatory compliance, and affect the availability of medicines.
The meeting provided an opportunity to explore the strategic, regulatory, and operational dimensions linked to industrial cybersecurity, while presenting tangible solutions. Among these was a practical demonstration of a SIEM-OT system, which highlighted how to detect and respond to a cyber attack on a production line in real-time.
El Mostafa Rabii, Amine Bennis, Ibrahim Rabii, and Siham Khazzani El Amrani emphasized in their interventions that cybersecurity for industrial systems is no longer just a technical issue; it has become a strategic pillar to ensure the resilience of industrial ecosystems, boost market confidence, and safeguard patient safety.
Through mobilizing its ecosystem, particularly with the involvement of FlexITSecurity and SEKERA, Groupe AEGIS aims for sustainable support for the pharmaceutical sector within a broader vision of positioning Morocco as a leading African hub in the field of cybersecurity for industrial systems.
