A New Step Towards Justice Transparency: The Ministry of Justice Joins the National Information Access Portal
In a bid to enhance the principles of transparency and good governance, and to implement the royal directives aimed at establishing a state of law, the Ministry of Justice has taken a significant institutional step that reflects its ongoing commitment to justice reform and the modernization of the judicial administration by signing an agreement to join the National Information Access Portal.
This agreement was signed on Tuesday at the Ministry of Justice headquarters in Rabat, between Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi and the head of the Information Access Committee, Omar Sagrouchni. The move aims to enhance the judiciary’s openness to its environment and facilitate citizens’ access to information within a regulated legal framework.
The National Information Access Portal (PNDAI) serves as a comprehensive digital platform that enables citizens, as well as legally residing foreigners in Morocco, to submit and track requests for information and related complaints in accordance with the provisions of law No. 31.13. This platform also provides public administrations and institutions with digital tools for processing requests, generating accurate data and indicators that contribute to improving service quality and enhancing the effectiveness of this constitutional right.
The Ministry of Justice’s alignment with this platform corresponds to the digital transformation of public administration, as the portal represents a modern and supplementary mechanism to traditional submission processes, facilitating procedures and bringing the administration closer to the beneficiaries, especially regarding access to legal and judicial information.
In a statement on the occasion, the Justice Minister emphasized that this engagement reflects a clear institutional commitment to making transparency a fundamental pillar of judicial work, highlighting that making information accessible to citizens is done in a responsible and efficient manner, thereby strengthening trust in justice and supporting the comprehensive reform process underway in the Kingdom.
For his part, the head of the Information Access Committee underscored the significance of this step, considering it part of an institutional integration effort along with the Supreme Judicial Council and the Public Prosecution, which enhances the application of legal provisions across various courts and serves the interests of citizens and foreigners residing in Morocco.
This agreement illustrates a growing awareness of the importance of cooperation among various public institutions to optimally implement the right to access information, regarded as one of the essential pillars of good governance. It also constitutes an additional building block in the modernization of justice, increasing its effectiveness and transparency, and boosting beneficiaries’ trust in its services.
