The regional multi-service company in Laâyoune approves the 2026 budget.

The board of directors of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra regional multi-service company recently convened in Laâyoune to approve the budget for the year 2026.

This meeting, chaired by the Wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Abdessalam Bekrate, focused on presenting the investment and operational budget for 2026, alongside a multi-year plan for the period from 2026 to 2030.

On this occasion, the company’s General Manager, Ramadan Baqarour, provided a detailed presentation on the company’s activities during the last quarter of 2025, highlighting the operation of the main 60/22 kV transformer station and the March 25 water complex in Laâyoune.

He also outlined ongoing efforts to operationalize the activated sludge wastewater treatment plant in Laâyoune, in addition to supporting various regions in preparing the integrated territorial development program (PDTI) related to sectors and activities within the company’s jurisdiction.

Following a discussion on the presentation’s contents, it was decided to postpone the approval of the multi-year plan for 2026-2030, pending verification of its alignment with the priorities of the ongoing integrated territorial development program being prepared at the regional level.

The Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra regional multi-service company is the sole entity responsible for managing the distribution of potable water, electricity, and liquid sanitation services in the region.

This entity represents a new model of unified and effective territorial governance in managing basic public services, based on principles of proximity, efficiency, and spatial equity, and relies on Moroccan expertise with multidisciplinary competencies.
