The Royal Moroccan Football Federation appoints Mohamed Wahbi as the national team coach following Regragui

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has settled the debate surrounding the future of the national team’s coaching staff by officially selecting Mohamed Wahbi to lead the “Atlas Lions” during the upcoming phase, succeeding Walid Regragui after the team’s failure in the Africa Cup of Nations final against Senegal.

This decision came after extensive consultations and a comprehensive evaluation of the team’s performance over recent months, alongside the review of several resumes, ultimately leading to the choice of a national coach with extensive experience in youth categories and a deep understanding of local talents.

An official announcement regarding the appointment is expected during a meeting of the board scheduled for Thursday, where Wahbi will be formally introduced to the sports public.

This move is viewed as an effort towards a project focused on training and continuity, especially given the notable achievements Wahbi has attained with youth teams, making him one of the prominent national figures trusted within the federation to manage the senior team.
