The Moroccan national boxing team for the under-19 category, consisting of both male and female athletes, left the country for Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday morning, February 23, 2026. They are headed for a training camp that will take place from February 24 to March 6, in preparation for the World Boxing Championship.
Bangkok will host the World Boxing Championship for the under-19 categories from March 8 to 15, 2026. This will mark the first participation of Moroccan champions following the official integration of the Royal Moroccan Boxing Federation into the new International Boxing Federation, World Boxing, since December 2025. This federation is responsible for overseeing boxing events at the 2028 Olympic Games in the United States, with the endorsement of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The Moroccan women’s under-19 team consists of five boxers: Mariam Boukraa (48 kg), Rihab Hamdoun (51 kg), Manar Adnan (54 kg), Hind Al-Baz (60 kg), and Aya Al-Sabahi (65 kg).
On the men’s side, the team includes eight boxers: Mostafa Barhili (50 kg), Ziad Al-Khadari (55 kg), Youssef Helila (60 kg), Hossam Bouchtah (65 kg), Marwan Al-Jaafari (70 kg), Rayan Hafidh (75 kg), Ilyas Al-Sitni (80 kg), and Wahbi Mohammed Amin (+90 kg).
The Moroccan national team is accompanied by a technical crew led by Cuban head coach Juan Carlos Ferrer, with the assistance of Mohamed Machabi, Zahra Al-Zahraoui, Najm Abdel-Lawi, and masseur Mostafa Abissa.
The national team hopes to achieve outstanding results in this global championship, which represents an important step in the development of Moroccan boxing and the preparation of champions who can compete internationally and in the Olympics.
