Saudi Arabia announced on Tuesday that tomorrow, Wednesday, marks the first day of Ramadan, according to a statement issued by the royal court.
The statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reads: “The Supreme Court has decided that tomorrow, Wednesday, is the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH.”
Ramadan also begins tomorrow, Wednesday, in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
The UAE Presidency announced the sighting of the Ramadan crescent moon, establishing that tomorrow, February 18, is the first day of this holy month in the country.
In its statement, the Presidency announced based on the decision of the “Moon Sighting Committee for the month of Ramadan for the year 1447 AH,” which held its meeting on Tuesday evening at Al-Hosn Palace in the capital Abu Dhabi on the 29th of Sha’ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 17, 2026. After reviewing the reports and results of the moon sighting from across the country, the committee confirmed the legal sighting of the Ramadan crescent moon this evening. Thus, tomorrow, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, will be the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan 1447 AH in the UAE.
