North Korea Warns of “Horrible Response” If South Korean Drone Incursions Continue
North Korea warned on Friday of a “horrible response” if South Korea carries out another drone incursion into its airspace, according to the state-run Korean Central News Agency.
This warning came after South Korean investigators raided intelligence agency offices in an attempt to identify those responsible for a January incident in which Pyongyang claimed to have downed a southern drone near the industrial city of Kaesong.
Kim Yo-jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, stated in a statement issued by the Korean Central News Agency: “I give a prior warning that a repetition of such provocation, which violates the established sovereignty of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, will surely provoke a horrible reaction.”
