The Ministry of Economy and Finance has announced a new package of measures aimed at supporting the purchasing power of citizens and strengthening mechanisms to combat tax evasion, as part of ongoing reforms to the taxation system and improvement of financial balances.
The ministry clarified that these measures include social initiatives intended to alleviate pressure on households by continuing support for essential goods and services, alongside adopting tax measures aimed at improving the income of middle-class groups and enhancing tax equity.
In contrast, the ministry plans to tighten tax monitoring and expand its scope by reinforcing mechanisms for tracking financial transactions, relying more on digitization and data exchange between departments. This will help detect cases of fraud and tax evasion and limit the informal economy.
The new measures also include incentives for taxpayers to voluntarily comply with their tax obligations by simplifying administrative procedures and facilitating tax payments, in addition to adopting an approach focused on guidance and awareness rather than solely punitive measures.
The ministry confirmed that these measures are part of a comprehensive vision aimed at expanding the tax base, achieving greater fairness among taxpayers, and providing additional resources to fund social programs and public investment, thereby supporting economic growth and maintaining financial balances.
