Sales of cement are projected to rise to 14.82 million tons by 2025, with the sector entering a phase of sustainable recovery.
According to the Professional Association of Cement Companies, the cement delivery index for its members from 2000 to 2025 reflects remarkable transformations in the sector’s dynamics, characterized by phases of growth, slowdown, and renewed recovery.
The association noted in a briefing that the market experienced continuous growth between 2000 and 2011, with deliveries peaking at over 16 million tons. However, this dynamic began to decline from 2012, recording a decrease of 1.6% followed by a further drop of 6.3% in 2013.
The subsequent decade was marked by significant fluctuations exacerbated by major external shocks, leading to notable declines in 2020 and 2022 of 10% and 10.7%, respectively.
The association indicated that the sector has entered a recovery phase since 2023, reinforced by a strong rebound in 2024 of 9.45%. This positive trend is expected to continue in 2025 with stable growth of 8.21%, raising the delivered quantities to 14.82 million tons.
The Professional Association of Cement Companies affirmed that the production capacity of its members is double the national consumption, emphasizing the sector’s readiness to support major projects in the kingdom sustainably, through a strategy based on innovation and carbon reduction.
