World Leaders Discuss Economic Priorities and International Cooperation in Davos

World leaders, thinkers, and business executives are addressing a range of economic, technological, and political issues at the World Economic Forum in Davos 2026, which runs until January 23. The gathering sees extensive participation from heads of state and government, as well as senior officials from various sectors.

Discussions at the 56th annual forum, themed “Spirit of Dialogue,” are centered around key areas including strengthening international cooperation in response to geopolitical crises, promoting sustainable economic growth, developing skills, and investing in human capital. Additionally, responsible technology use and innovation, as well as integrating environmental sustainability into growth policies, are key topics of discussion.

Sessions highlighted the importance of focusing on subjects such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation due to their significant impact on labor markets and societies, as well as cybersecurity issues and their implications for different industries.

Among the announcements made during the forum was a list of artificial intelligence solutions that includes innovative global models applicable to sectors like health, energy, and infrastructure. Remarkably, about half of these solutions are from Chinese institutions, indicating the role of this technology in reshaping economic sectors.

Participants also discussed issues related to global economic growth, with projections suggesting a growth rate of approximately 2.7% for 2026. The optimism expressed by the U.S. administration forecasts strong economic growth for the United States at a rate between 4% and 5%, reflecting hopes for bolstering global economic stability.

The forum also tackled political and economic subjects that some perceive as tests for international cooperation amid increasing geopolitical pressures, such as discussions on peace initiatives and dialogues among various nations.

In terms of Arab representation, several leaders, including Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, participated in sessions focused on enhancing economic cooperation and investment partnerships with the international community, exchanging insights on joint solutions for global challenges.

As such, the World Economic Forum in Davos continues to gather leaders from around the world to discuss visions and recommendations that can influence future economic and social policies, at a time when many global challenges necessitate broader and more effective international partnerships.
