In the city of Kelaa des Sraghna, dozens of members of the Jewish community, both from within Morocco and abroad, gathered on Thursday to commemorate the Hilula at the tomb of Rabbi Isaac Cohen. The rabbi, who lived and was buried in the city over seven decades ago, was honored with prayers for his soul and requests for his blessings, as part of an annual religious tradition reflecting the deep-rooted religious coexistence that has characterized Morocco throughout its history.

The ceremonies took place in a spiritual atmosphere, marked by strict security and organizational measures overseen by various security services, including the national police, the royal gendarmerie, auxiliary forces, and local authorities, ensuring the event proceeded in a secure and disciplined manner.

The event also featured an official delegation visiting the Jewish cemetery located near the industrial district, led by the representative of His Majesty the King in the Kelaa des Sraghna region, Samir El Yzidi, along with the regional secretary, the president of the regional council, and the mayor of Kelaa des Sraghna, in addition to several heads of security and administrative departments.

The visit concluded with prayers for mercy and forgiveness for the late Kings Mohammed V and Hassan II, may God rest their souls, along with blessings for the beleaguered King Mohammed VI, may God support him, and the noble Alaouite family. Attendees expressed their congratulations for Morocco’s national achievements, particularly regarding the Western Sahara issue, under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King.

The occasion was accompanied by traditional songs and chants that reflected a spirit of joy and pride, once again embodying the values of tolerance, religious coexistence, and national unity, which Morocco exemplifies.
