Tangier: French Citizen Wanted Internationally for Drug Trafficking Arrested
The police forces in the Tangier security area successfully arrested a 34-year-old French national today, January 26, 2026, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities. According to available information, the verification of the individual’s identity through the Interpol database revealed that he was wanted internationally based on a Red Notice requested by the National Central Bureau in Paris. He is suspected of being involved in a criminal network engaged in international drug trafficking using stolen vehicles.
The suspect was apprehended following a notification from the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Rabat, affiliated with the General Directorate of National Security, as part of the extradition procedures applicable in such cases. This security intervention falls within the ongoing commitment of Moroccan security services to activate international security cooperation mechanisms, particularly regarding the pursuit and arrest of individuals wanted internationally for transnational organized crime.
The arrested individual has been placed under established legal procedures, pending the completion of the extradition process in accordance with national legislation and relevant international agreements.
