The Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication – Culture Sector – has announced the organization of the 31st International Book and Publishing Fair at the OLM Souissi space in Rabat, scheduled to take place from April 30 to May 10, 2026. This event comes amid intensive preparations by the organizing bodies to welcome participants and visitors from both domestic and international backgrounds.
In preparation for this annual cultural event, the ministry has opened registration for participation requests from institutions, publishing houses, authors, and interested associations until February 10, 2026, via the official electronic platform of the fair at the following link: inscriptions.siel.ma/register, facilitating the submission of applications electronically for participants from various countries.
The 2026 edition represents a significant opportunity in the national cultural landscape, coinciding with the selection of Rabat as the World Capital of Books for 2026 by UNESCO, which enhances the fair’s profile and grants it an international dimension focused on promoting Morocco’s status in the global publishing and reading movement.
This edition of the fair will feature France as the guest of honor, highlighting the strong cultural ties between the two countries, and will also celebrate the figure of the Moroccan explorer Ibn Battuta, who symbolizes cultural and civilizational exchange over the centuries.
The fair, one of the most important cultural spaces in North Africa, is expected to witness extensive participation from local and international publishing houses, as well as a series of seminars, discussions, and various cultural activities that reflect the vibrant cultural dynamism in Rabat throughout 2026.
