Officially, Senegal’s fans are banned from supporting their team at the 2026 World Cup in the United States.
Senegalese fans holding only Senegalese passports will not be allowed to enter the United States during the tournament due to travel restrictions imposed by former President Donald Trump, which currently affect 39 countries under claims of security and administrative considerations related to visa policies.
This decision is not limited to Senegal alone; it also includes Ivory Coast, one of Germany’s group-stage opponents, along with Haiti and Iran, which are among the teams participating in the 2026 World Cup. The Democratic Republic of the Congo is also at risk of being added to this list if it secures a spot through the upcoming playoff match at the end of March.
Conversely, the only exemption from the visa restrictions applies to players, coaches, and medical staff, allowing the teams to participate normally in the competitions without their fans accompanying them.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the Senegalese Football Federation regarding the implications of these restrictions on fans, and developments are awaited in the coming months regarding the political and legal situation.
