Morocco Showcases Its Culture at the “Art and Diplomacy” Exhibition in New York

Morocco distinguished itself at the “Art and Diplomacy” exhibition, held on Thursday evening in New York, celebrating the 101st anniversary of the establishment of the Foreign Consuls Association.

This exhibition serves as an international platform that bridges art and diplomacy, highlighting the promotion of cultural and economic relations between countries, particularly with New York, the largest diplomatic hub in the world.

Morocco is represented on the executive committee of the association through its consulate general in New York, alongside countries such as Georgia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Serbia, Switzerland, Bulgaria, and Argentina.

The exhibition, held at the Filipino consulate in the city, offered attendees the opportunity to explore Morocco’s rich and diverse culture through the works of visual artist Rashid Jouida, reinforcing Morocco’s distinguished status as a cultural and tourist destination at both the African and international levels.

In a statement during the event, artist Jouida expressed his pride in participating in this occasion, noting that the artworks reflect the essence of Moroccan culture and civilization, highlighting values of peace and coexistence in a society deeply rooted in history.

For his part, the Consul General of Morocco in New York, Mohamed Ait Behi, emphasized that participation in the exhibition was an opportunity to showcase the cultural richness of the Kingdom and its international standing, pointing out the role of such events in fostering understanding and cultural exchange among peoples in service of global peace and security.

The exhibition also featured artworks representing other countries, including Georgia, Barbados, Switzerland, Serbia, and the Philippines, in an event that underscores the convergence of art and diplomacy.
