Fish Landings at the Port of Mdiq Increase by 39%

The National Fisheries Office has reported that fish landings from coastal and traditional fishing in the Port of Mdiq reached approximately 2,610 tons in 2025, marking a 39% increase compared to 2024.

The commercial value of these landings was 94.73 million dirhams, a 19% rise from 79.74 million dirhams in the previous year.

Notably, the increase was significant among fish categories, with surface fish showing a 59% increase to 1,221 tons, yielding over 19.07 million dirhams. White fish also rose by 61% to 748 tons, generating revenues of 22.68 million dirhams.

Conversely, mollusks experienced a decline of 8%, settling at 402 tons with revenues of 27.22 million dirhams, while crustaceans grew by 17%, reaching 233 tons and achieving financial returns nearing 25.73 million dirhams.
