The surveillance system at Zoumi Hospital foiled an impersonation attempt by an individual posing as a nurse during an attempted extortion of a woman.
According to available information, the suspect entered the hospital claiming he wanted to visit a patient. He quickly pretended to be a nurse and demanded a sum of money from a woman in exchange for “facilitating” her childbirth. However, his suspicious behavior was noticed early on, and he was placed under close observation by the hospital administration.
As he began to extort money from the woman, security guards intervened immediately and apprehended him on the spot. Subsequently, the relevant authorities were notified, and necessary legal actions were initiated against him.
This incident serves as tangible evidence of the importance of strict regulations governing access to hospitals and visitor movements, in response to complaints about security checks at entrances. Without these measures, opportunists impersonating professionals would find it easier to exploit patients and their families during vulnerable moments.
