The General Directorate of National Security has announced the launch of an unprecedented package of reforms to the complementary health coverage system (AMC) and death insurance, through the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works for National Security Employees. This initiative is seen as a significant step towards expanding access to benefits and improving the quality of healthcare services.

For the first time, these reforms will integrate new categories into the complementary health coverage and death insurance system, including widows, retirees, and their families, as well as orphans of national security personnel. These groups will receive the same level of health coverage afforded to active police employees and their families, with the foundation covering the entire financial cost of this immediate integration.

The goal of this reform is to enable thousands of new beneficiaries to enhance their basic health coverage, particularly regarding expensive medical treatments, care for chronic and severe illnesses, while also enjoying death insurance benefits under specific conditions, ensuring broader and more effective social protection.

Alongside the expansion of beneficiary groups, the reforms include a thorough update of health coverage provisions. This involves the addition of new treatments and medical examinations to the compensation and direct coverage schedule, particularly imaging tests, radiology, and lab analyses associated with severe and chronic diseases. The covered treatments will also expand to include medical rehabilitation and precise treatments that require long recovery periods.

The reform package also introduces significant service updates, such as reducing the processing time for health coverage claims from 48 hours to less than 24 hours, and implementing a new system for direct financial compensation following the birth of a new child, along with other perks aimed at improving beneficiary experience and expediting benefit processing.

These reforms are part of a comprehensive social approach that places the National Security family, in all its components, at the heart of an integrated and effective social protection system, thereby enhancing social stability and providing additional support for police officers to continue their duties with dedication and responsibility in serving the nation’s security and the safety of its citizens.
