The Board of Directors of the Casablanca Stock Exchange has unanimously appointed Mr. Nasser El-Sadeqi as the new General Director to enhance governance and develop the market, with his official duties beginning on January 19, 2026.

Mr. Nasser El-Sadeqi brings over 25 years of professional experience in financial oversight, asset management, and market governance, acquired through his career at the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, alongside various roles in international organizations. The board believes that this expertise will significantly contribute to the ongoing strategic development of the Casablanca Stock Exchange and strengthen its position within the national and international financial systems.

On this occasion, the board expressed its full confidence in the new general director and wished him success in his role, which holds importance in keeping pace with the transformations taking place in the capital market.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. El-Sadeqi held the position of Director of the Professional Division at the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, where he was responsible for overseeing market monitoring activities, asset management, and issuers. He played a key role in leading several significant strategic initiatives, including the development of sustainable finance and the launch of the derivatives market.

He previously served as the Chair of the Derivatives Market Coordination Committee from 2022 to 2025 and participated in various international bodies and organizations, including the Francophone Institute for Financial Regulation (IFREFI) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), which enhanced his international profile and expertise.

Mr. Nasser El-Sadeqi began his professional career in Paris with an international auditing firm, where he gained significant experience in auditing and consulting, before taking on various international roles, particularly in the banking and asset management sectors. In 2009, he joined the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, where he rose through the ranks to become the Director of the Professional Division.

Academically, Mr. El-Sadeqi holds a state-certified accounting expert diploma from France, in addition to multiple international certificates in the development and regulation of capital markets, including the Global Certificate Program for Regulators of Securities Markets issued by Harvard Law School in partnership with IOSCO.
