Thanks to the digitization of procedures and the outsourcing of services, Morocco is witnessing a surge in the establishment of businesses and digital job opportunities.

During a presentation of the results of the national digital transformation strategy at the House of Representatives, the Deputy Minister in charge of digital transition and public administration reform confirmed that the Kingdom has entered an advanced stage of embedding the digital economy as a lever for social and economic development. Official figures revealed a significant success in creating job opportunities and simplifying the business climate through modern technological means.

The outsourcing sector stands at the forefront of vital industries benefiting from this dynamism, as the incentive measures implemented since 2022 have resulted in the creation of more than 18,500 new jobs. This coincides with record export revenues nearing 26 billion dirhams by the end of 2024, underscoring the direct economic benefits of investing in digitization and enhancing Morocco’s international competitiveness in this field.

In a related context, the entrepreneurial landscape has undergone a radical transformation thanks to the digital platform dedicated to business creation, which has empowered youth and project holders to establish over 35,000 companies through a fully integrated electronic process. This reflects a remarkable advancement in facilitating administrative procedures and reducing barriers to private investment.

As for modernization of public administration, the national reference today includes over 600 digital public services, with a strong commitment to protecting the privacy of users. Half of the current digital pathways have been aligned with the provisions of the law concerning the protection of personal data, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for more than 120 essential services.

Looking ahead, the Kingdom aims for broader horizons with the upcoming announcement of a national AI roadmap in January. This plan focuses on establishing a network of excellence centers, known as “Al-Jaziri Institutes,” as a fundamental engine for implementing the “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy. These centralized institutes will oversee governance and direct applied research, aiming to harness the potential of artificial intelligence to accelerate the digitization of administration and ensure complete harmony among various ministerial sectors through unified digital standards.
