Sidi Kacem Hosts the 2025 Peace Award Ceremony

Sidi Kacem is preparing to host the 2025 Peace Award Ceremony, organized by the Journey Foundation for Live Arts, as part of the launch of the 2025 edition of the “Peace Forum for Contemporary Arts” in its mobile version. The event will take place on Friday, December 19, at the Grand Exhibition Hall, with the attendance of diplomats, cultural activists, artists, and prominent figures from both Morocco and abroad.

This international cultural event aligns with the artistic vision in harmony with the high royal directives of King Mohammed VI, advocating for the establishment of values of peace, coexistence, and openness, while enhancing the role of culture and the arts as tools for parallel diplomacy and as a means to promote Morocco’s image as a country of tolerance and civilizational dialogue.

The Peace Award Ceremony serves as the inaugural event for an artistic and cultural journey that will travel through ten Moroccan cities, aiming to democratize access to culture and make it a shared right, with a particular focus on youth as the heartbeat of this dynamic and a key axis in building a future based on creativity and positive citizenship.

The 2025 edition coincides with the announcement of the launch date for the digital platform “E-Salam Connect,” which aims to create an interactive space combining creativity, advocacy, digital exchange, and cultural diplomacy. This will enable creators, youth, and interested individuals to engage in an international network dedicated to promoting a culture of peace, enhancing innovation, and building a more responsible and humane digital world.

The forum’s programming will also integrate qualitative initiatives, including the “Path of Peace and Dialogue” program aimed at youth to discuss the challenges of the digital world, values of citizenship, and the rejection of hate speech and extremism. Additionally, the “Peace” competition will celebrate young talents and connect artistic creativity with values of peace, alongside intellectual meetings discussing issues related to artificial intelligence, digital rights, ecology, and social innovation, within a vision that makes the forum an environmentally friendly cultural event.

In a statement on the occasion, the founding president of the forum, Abdel Latif Nohaila, emphasized that this edition primarily targets youth as the main actors in building the peace of the future. He reiterated that art remains a universal language capable of uniting differences, and that Morocco, through this event, sends a powerful message to the world that creativity is a fundamental gateway to building a more humane digital realm.

Nohaila added that the forum is part of the kingdom’s pioneering path in cultural diplomacy, utilizing the arts and cultural and creative industries as a means to bridge peoples and establish values of peace and coexistence, reinforcing Morocco’s position as a civilizational model that combines modernity with a human dimension.
